Ben is the buyer for boutique importer of Italian wines, Bat & Bottle, which he co-founded with his wife Emma, in 1994.

He is the inaugural winner of the London Wine Fair’s Online Specialist Wine Buyer award and Bat & Bottle has been both winner (2021) and runner up (2022) for Italian Specialist in the Decanter Retailer awards.

Ben is a senior judge for the Decanter World Wine Awards and a regular face at Vinitaly. In the wintertime he works from Piemonte.
